These copies have pictorial covers. The pair is showing wear and rubbing. These were professionally restored likely in the mid-20th century with the rear board of the first volume being replaced. There is light scattered foxing generally throughout though many leaves do not have any foxing. The inclusion of the plates was handled separately from the binding process. As was the common case, the plate opposite page 215 is omitted. There is an 1890 previous owner's inscription to the front blank endpaper of both volumes. There are no loose pages.
