Newman 1844 First Edition Octavo, ii, 288 pages, publisher's original gilt lettered black cloth covered boards with blind-stamped decoration. Some minor rubbing and wear, minimal discoloration, else in very good + condition. The Hierophant: or Monthly Journal of Sacred Symbols and Prophecy, edited by George Bush and published in New York in 1844, was a periodical dedicated to the exploration of religious symbolism and prophetic literature.
