Please note that the wrapping paper, gold seal sticker and plastic are slightly torn as shown, but this has not affected the book. It measures 4 1/2" H x 3.5" and includes a collector's booklet as shown. This rare, leatherbound, discontinued gilt-imprinted hardcover book is an authorized replica from the Treasures of the Library of Congress collection. It is a reproduction of the rare "Army and Navy Prayer Book" published in 1864. Only 3 copies of the original 1864 prayer book remain at the Library of Congress’ Rare Book and Special Collections Division. This book offers a rare glimpse into Confederate religious literature of the Civil War era. The original books were sewn and bound in parchment. Easton Press designed the leather binding and cover and spine designs to complement and fortify the distinctive reproduction.
