From Cruikshank's Designs Boston: Ticknor & Fields 1867 First American Edition 12mo, 111 pages, publisher's original brick red cloth covered boards with gilt-lettering and decoration. Illustrated with seven chromolithographed color plates. Some signs of rubbing and wear, slight discoloration, front hinge starting, corners bruised, else in very good condition. Grimm’s Goblins is an attractive 19th-century illustrated selection from the Household Stories of the Brothers Grimm, published in Boston by Ticknor & Fields in 1867. Designed as a gift book for children and families, it presents a carefully chosen group of the darker, more fantastical tales—featuring goblins, sprites, and enchanted figures—that helped define the Grimm tradition for English-speaking readers. Fantastic seller. Contacted me almost immediately with shipping details and an explanation about a potential delay due to the Juneteeth holiday. Book was wrapped in a ridiculous amount of bubble wrap so it would arrive safely. So awesome to have a book from the early 1800s on free trade.
