Homemade Trunk, Bed, and Quilt for 18" American Girl Doll Kirsten. Beautiful, lovingly made replica by grandparents for their beloved granddaughter on her 8th birthday in 1995. Features heart cut-out handles on the sides, replica painted decorations on the front and lid, a carefully crafted hinged lid that opens and has a chain keeping it open at just the right amount, a bed that sits in the tray just like the PC one (it's a simple rectangle design with low sides), and 3 permanent dividers in the base of the trunk for keeping all the treasures neatly organized. The quilt is similarly a replica piece with a special embroidered inscription on the front. This is a vintage piece and has been long since in storage, and as the original owner didn't have a daughter to pass it on to, she's hoping it will find a wonderful new home now! Yes, due to age and play the blue paint has some scuffs and marks, but it's still extremely sturdy. The only chip I saw was on one of the dividers inside. No cracks or flaws in the actual construction. It's large and HEAVY, see measurements in the last pics. Quilt and bed are both in great shape. Set will be very carefully packaged for shipping, and shipped disassembled - just requires a Phillips screwdriver to put it back together. Item arrived as described in a USPS box and then covered in USPS wrap. Very thorough. The doll's outfit, coloring, and hair match the photo. Doll limbs are loose and that's ok with me at this price point, for the care this seller took to make sure items arrived intact. I would buy from this seller again.
